G'day guys,
I'm planning on spending four nights in Dubai on my way to Europe next year. I have a friend over there who should be able to provide some free accomodation however if this falls through, will I be able to find affordable accomodation in what I've been told is a very expensive city? I'm looking to sort this out now before it's too late to change my flights if this proves not to be feasible.
Thanks in advance

I was going to stay there for a few days too and ended up changing my ticket to make it a layover. I dont think there are any hostels there as I could not find any. It is expensive as well.
Good luck!

I found a relatively reasonably priced hotel on the internet when I went there. Just do some searches under cheap hotels dubai...
Good luck!

Everything is really expensive there. Im sure there are one or two cheap hotels. My dad is staying in Dubai, so when I went over, i stayed with him. Food is also very expensive! And alcohol! If you can find the alcohol....try buy some at the airport, but not too much or youll have to pay tax.

Thanks guys. The free accomodation came through for me which is great. Strings have been pulled and my importance has been exaggerated to the point where I may even have a chauffeur!
Can't wait. One week to go!
