So, I've had a temporary job for the last 10 weeks or so, I got it through one of the big job agencies in my town. My job is in the finance department of a company that makes cosmetics tubes, I basically faff around with spreadsheets and invoices, and sit on reception and answer calls that come through the switchboard.
Anyway, I get on really well with all the people I work with, and I always try really hard with temporary jobs. It bugs me when people don't make the effort just because it's not a permanant thing. I digress... So, they all seem to like me because I'm hardworking and pretty easy to get on with. Yesterday, my manager called me out of my office, and I was thinking "shit, what have I done?!". We got down into reception, and the manager of the job agency was there, and I was awarded "temp of the month", out of everyone they have on their books!
I was so excited, cos I never won anything before, and it shows that the people I work actually appreciate what I do! I got a certificate, and some vouchers to spend in a clothes shop, and I had to have my photo taken to go on their wall of fame, haha.
Well, I just thought I'd share my excitement!

Thanks!
I actually leave there in just over 2 weeks, I've only been working there to fund my 3 month trip (which is less than 3 weeks away!!!). They keep trying to persuade me to cancel the trip (!) and work there permanantly! I sincerely hope they're kidding.
It would be nice if they'll have me back for a few months when we return, cos I could use another temp job for a while (I'll be going to uni again, hopefully next September).

Congrats Lauren, you never know all these temporary jobs that you work so hard at could really turn into something permanent someday. You will have a reputation of being a good worker.
Keep it up!

Thank you all!
Aye, Majestic, there's another temp who I work with, and basically, she is shit. She leaves early the whole time, but always writes a different time on her sheet, so gets paid more, the bitch!
