So, I will complete my college career in December 2006, thank god.
I plan on going to Europe for at least a couple weeks, and my girlfriend has recently informed me she has a week off from work she can take. I am thinking about one of the following scenarios... what do you think?
a) Fly out to _______ and spend New Years Eve with the girlfriend somewhere and spend the week in this location, and come back to good ole' New Jersey, holding off my European Tour plans for later in 2007.
B) Go out to Europe on my european tour for a few weeks in the beginning of January, and have her meet me out in _______ and spend the week there, then return home to good ole' New Jersey.
c) Go out to Europe with the girlfriend for a week to _____, then escort her to the airport, send her off to good ole' New Jersey, and proceed with my european tour.
Regardless of the decision, (I think I'm leaning toward A or B moreso than C), Where is a good place to go in Europe for New Years Eve?
Thoughts? Locations? Ideas?

I hear Edinburgh is pretty crazy around New years. They apparantly have a like a week long thing building up to it.

How well do you tolerate the cold? Because, no offense to any Swedes, Sweden in Dec./Jan. is so cold you'll think the weather must be joking. Why not cooperate with the tilt of the earth and go with the southern hemmy? Rio sounds good, trannies or no.

Well, I spent last New Year's Eve in Helsinki, Finland. It wasn't THAT cold...
Of course, I don't remember much because Finns can drink like fish.
I'm trying to maintain a tradition of spending every NYE in a different country...so far, the past 2 years I've succeeded.

Fins can drink like no fucking other. It is ridiculous. I am friends with two different Finnish dudes and I am absolutely amazed at how much they can drink. Wake up, vodka, straight, NOW. Theyre strange as fuck too...however theyre both solid people. If all of finland is as drunk, weird, and solid as they are it must be good for a NYE time.

edinburgh isn't NYE on dec 31 its Hogmany and it is sooo crazy.
but accomodation can be expensive and it books out early.
Last year we went the the torch parade a few days before (29th i think)
then there was a street carnival the next night
and the street party for hogmany. (i have never seen so many fireworks in all my life)
was fun, but i prob wouldn't do it again for a while.
