From October 5th the price of a stanfard 10 year passport will rise to £66 so they can install a chip in it to make it security friendly. Also after new years anyone applying for their first passport will have to go for an interview. So if you are renewing your pssport or if you are about to get your first one I would reccomend doing it ASAP.

well how long do you guys get yours for? I thought 10 years was the norm? I also dont think £66 is that bad if it stops the idea of these stupid id cards coming in

£66 for a 10 year passport isn't too bad but the interview is a wad of balony. So, I'm just telling folks to get their's now especially if you know someone who is getting their first.
I dunno about getting a British passport abroad but getting a Canadian one abroad is a total pain!
