Well last night was my last Friday night in San Sebastian so I wanted to go out and party. Met up with a couple people, it was all cool, and then my flip flop broke! F**k! Walking around barefoot really sucks, and is pretty disgusting too. My friend took his shoes off too and we tried to start a trend but no one went for it
I only lasted an hour and a half before walking home. My feet were black and are so sore now. Flip flops always break at the most inconvenient times...why canīt there be a shoe store open at 1am?
...Anyone else have a broken shoe story?

Not a Broken shoe story, but last night I was partying in Toronto wearing heels and as soon as we were out of the club and on the street I had to take my heels off because they were send shooting pains up my spine with every step...
so more of a walking around a major city barefoot story.

Last year at the Bonnaroo music festival I was walking thru one of the many fields of mud, needless to say at several points my flipflop was sucked in by the mud. With no light, there I was on my hands and knees feeling around in the mud. Good times, I found it every time though.

The current pair of sandals I am wearing now have some signs of dying on me. The soles are starting to wear a little, still good, but just losing the top layer. The straps at my heal are starting to go a little too. It is going to suck to try to replace these when they go because of the price, and also because of the memories with them. I know it sounds goofy, but there are a bunch.
I have been wearing them for over a year almost non stop now though. I know I have put hundreds of walking miles on them and plrenty of abuse (saltwater, hiking, climbing rocks, sports, and plenty more) but they have held up amazingly well.

Luckily I love my Havaianas here from Brasil. Only $7 per pair and I am sending a few home since they are $30 a pair in the USA. Hmmm maybe I should get more to sell...
I love em though. They are tough, comfortable, and serve their purpose well.

I was distraught when one of my flip flops broke a couple of years ago. I was at the Reading Festival, and my beloved flip flops got so caked in mud, that it all began to rot away a bit, and then one broke. I'd had them for ages, and they were soooo comfy. I felt kind of bad just chucking them in a bin, I felt I should have cremated them or somthing!

im going on two years with my chaco flipflops and I swear they are barely showing any signs of wear. I wear them more than any other shoe and they are incredible
At 50 dollars though I expected amazing things and they haven't let me done.

I won't own impractical footwear, flips included. My birkenstocks and tevas have lasted me through many, many, many drunken/other encounters in multiple locales and never once separated from my feet leaving me stranded and shoeless. :D

Flip flops are practical for me... until someone steps on one and I carry on walking. My friend did that to me a while ago, I swear I almost ripped my foot clear down the middle.
