Hey Guys! Got a question that I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to? I'm leaving in a month and a half to go live in Sweden for a year. I'm all hooked up on getting a residence permit to study over there.

What I was wondering is during the school year and for about 3-4 weeks after school gets out I want to travel Europe. I plan to hop around, not really staying in one place too long. Do I need to worry about getting seperate Visas for every country I visit? I know that in most European countries a person can stay there for up to 90 days without one.

Also because of money or lack of, I'm only buying a one way ticket there. I'm recieving financial aid both for the Fall and Spring and I have already budgeted to get the ticket in the Spring. (It isn't an option to get a round trip ticket!) Will imigration give me any problems? Should I lie and tell them I have a ticket home when I don't. I don't know if this matters, but I will be leaving the States and arriving in London for a few days and then on to Stockholm.

well, i don't know about when you arrive in sweden, but if you show the british officials your proof of flight to sweden then they won't hassle you. I actually showed up in london a couple times with no proof of onward travel, put my occupation as unemployed, and had no proof of funds, but they let me in. haha, one guy did tell me that i should probly put something in the occupation line since i work seasonally, this way they won't hassle me as much.

You should have no problems at all in the EU countries. Once you hit the EU you get 90 days which will be more than enough. You will have to check for any non-eu countries.

Well, definitely DON'T lie and tell them you have a ticket - when they ask you to produce it and you can't ... you could expect some problems.

Have all your documents ready, the student visa, and the financial aid paperwork so they know that you have some sort of support for the next term. They probably won't ask, and DON'T volunteer the information if they don't, but if they do and you are polite and presentable and have all the documentation possible, you shouldn't have any problems.
