Hi,i just bought a Eagle Creek Switchback® Max ES 25 and im wondering if i made a mistake. In my excitement and haste i wasnt really thinking and now im wondering if this pack is just to big to backpack with.It weighs 11 pounds without anything in it,the dimensions are 15 x 25 x 10 in / 38 x 64 x 25 cm (main bag) and now im wondering if it will even be able to fit in the lockers of any Hostel or train station.

Will i be okay with the pack or should i find something not a big? I will be backpacking for 3 months and it does have alot of room, but its like a suitcase with straps.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Well I have never traveled with something so big and I'm doubting it would fit any locker, I do have the tendecy of carring a more sleek, small backpack just not to call the attention. but dude I have no clue let me get the dimensions of a regular locker for ya. Yeah from what I gotn it seems a bit big, dude what are you mainly gonna do thou???? camp out or be in hostels?

Hey!! Welcome to the boards!!

Unfortunately our Tpunk Gear Guru, KingCrazyLegs is travelling somewhere on this planet, and won't be back in a week or so, but I found you a really useful guide he made for when you're choosing your pack: How to choose a pack!!.

Can you return the one you already bought and exchange it for one that suits you best? I think you could do that, figure out the pack that you really need from that guide and go again to the shop u bought yours from. If it's impossible to exchange it (like get another salesman and explain how your mum tried to surprise you but got you the wrong pack...) then you could sell it off at Ebay.

I hope this helps!! Anymore doubts just ask away and we'll try to give you more precise help!!

Welcome to the boards!

The pack you described is pretty big, but not the biggest pack, so you shoulding have much trouble. In fact, my Eagle Creek, the Transcontinental Journey is substantially larger, and I didn't have much issue with lockers (though it was a tight squeeze.)

For what its worth, you may want to pick up a good cable lock (like for a bicycle) just in case you do run across a locker that doesn't hold it. That way you can secure it to a fixed object (like a bunk bed) and still be able to sleep at night.

If you have any other questions, fire away!
