So I've stumbled upon this thing that apparently the rest of the world knew about and I didn't....

anyway it's called Birthright Israel and they do free 10 day trips to the home land for jewish young adults between 18-26. I've read conflicting reports but either you have to be jewish or have a grandparent that was jewish or something like that.. It seems to bit a bit vague depending on which site you go to.

But seriously 10 free days in the promised land... I could be jewish, nu?

Well.... here they dont do it for free, but if you are jewish you pay 400 US$ and the community takes care of the rest. I know people who've actually done this, they usually go 10-15 days to Israel and then they turn it into backbacking Europe for a much cheaper flight from Israel than from SouthAm.

Tons of my friends are Jewish, and most of them have done Birthright, usually extending the Israel trip into Western Europe, therefore having a free flight to the continent! I personally think I should get to go by association, but no progress yet! I get so mad at my friends that haven't taken advantage of it!

No kidding. I should get to go because I have pastrami sandwiches at the local deli more often than I should!

Hmmm.. I wonder if I can go with my Iranian passport. I'm sure that'll go over well at the airport.

I've been on Birthright.

It's unbelieveably cool. So damned cool. A free trip - just about everything's paid for. if you're Jewish, look into it...
