Very quickly, should I take a raincoat with me or not? It's a fair bit of added weight, but could be invaluable.... opinions?
Also, I'd like to take something small to offer people i meet along the way, preferably something british, any ideas? Bare in mind I either need to be able to get it at a til tsupermarket or the airport, I've left it rather last minute...

I regularly have to send malteasers out to budapest because the little biy i used to teach english to loves them and you cant buy them there
As for the raincoat if its one of those roll up shower macs then yeah take it but then we are british and we expect the rain lol! Saying that when i was in Krakow this time last year it pissed down the whole time i was there and i was glad i took my rain coat

If you forget it and end up somewhere rainy, do not fear. Someone will pop up out of a dark alley way with either than or an umbrella.

I take a waterproof windbreaker with me, usually. Something not very thick, that rolls up really tight and small...
And if I'm traveling in a really rainy area, or in non-summer, I pair that windbreaker up with a hooded sweatshirt and it'll take care of the really cold wet windy days...

That's the ticket. I have one that weighs almost nothing and rolls up into a tiny ball that takes up no space - its invaluable. Besides, pair it with a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt on a cool windy day and you can stay quite warm.

I just got the North Face Apex Amp Hybrid jacket... 10.1 oz folds up into a tiny little thing, comfy as hell, actually pretty warm, and it looks pretty good to boot
