Will be travelling to Oz in March for a year from Ireland. Like most backpacker virgins i have 101 questions. But one most important one thats on my mind. Do electrical items from Ireland work over there at all. Im talking hair dryer and straigtners here. Irrelevant to some people i know but to me the most important thing in my case lol. Im not doing the typical backpacking thing of camping in the outback or anything . Will be living in a house and of course such luxuries will not be provided!! An answer to this question would be great appreciated cheers!!
Irrelevant? Pish! I am definetly taking my hairdryer with me when I go in May. And, I'm also seriously considering on taking my straightners too. British appliances will work with an adapter, so I'm guessing that coming from Ireland, all you'll need is an adapter too, so no need to worry about a transformer or anything odd, just a simple adapter which you can buy from most places. :P
