I'm leaving for Europe on May 31st and I've been working on an itinerary for the last two weeks whenever I get the chance. It's not a day by day plan, more a list of what I'd like to try to see if I have time. I've got 28 days, so let me know if this is totaly unreasonable:

England: London (~3 days)
France: Paris (~3 days)
Belgium: Brussels (<1 day stop-over between Paris and Amsterdam)
Netherlands: Amsterdam (~2 days)
Germany: Cologne (~1 day), Heidelburg (~1 day), Munich (~2 days)
Italy: Venice (~2 days), Florence (~1 day), Rome (~3 days), Naples & Pompeii (~2 days)
Switzerland: Interlaken (~2 days)
Back to London (~1 day by train or <1 by Ryanair)

Total: 24 days + 4 days for travel/flexability

[attachmentid=184] Here is a more detailed listing of what I'd like to see in these places to give you a better idea of my travel plans. If anyone wants to suggest things I should add to my list or remove please let me know... some are things I definatly want to see and others are only things which have been suggested to me by other people or which looked interesting in books. Anything in grey is stuff I was looking at but probably wont make it into the final itinerary.

It's nice you left yourself those 4 days. Good idea. So far, everything looks great. I'd definitely have one of your extra days devoted to Interlaken. But, the places where you cut down your time (Italian and German cities) are where you'll have the least amount of time to travel, so you get a good feel for the country, the scenery and get to spend time in more than one city.
