Hmm... yeah, it does look pretty remote and tough to get to.

You might want to inquire with their tourism web site if you haven't already.

check out ryanair. their milan location is actually bergamo then they have a shuttle service into milan from there, but u could just get a different bus into bergamo. so u could fly from girona to 'milan' (bergamo).

u never can be too sure of what kind of deal you'll get on ryanair but it could be wicked cheap.

I flew into Milan Bergamo on Ryanair and there was shuttle that takes you into Milan and drops you at the train station. Im sure the shuttle runs the other way too if you actually need to go there from the train station. I would just get a flight there if I were you.

I went to Bergamo on the train, but I think I was coming from... somewhere in Austria... wow it's really scary that I have no memory of where I came from... but I think the train station was a fairly big one so there should be a few trains available - you can always go through milan. I went on to Canazei from there in one of the scariest taxi rides I've ever been on - it's quite a long drive but Canazei is one of my favourite places in Italy so if you get time to go then do it (its more of a winter town though)

so the flight would have been 80 euro and we are cheap as hell, and there is a night train but that isnt really an option as it only leave sundays, and tuesday. we need to get there monday. so a 13 hour train ride to milan it is with 4 changeovers, then we will find a shuttle to the airport from the train station (the airport is actually in bergamo and not milan) then maybe a taxi or something to a hostel, its pretty shaddy but oh well its the best i can do for now

It will be benefit if you hire a car for your travel. There are bunch of taxi service company that provides you a car on cheap rent. You are free to travel and also know the new places from it.
