I just read an article that puts them at about $8 a gallon American, is that accurate? I'm pretty sure I'm going to book a car instead of booking a tour in Scotland and I have a person to split it with me. Let me know!

Hi Dave, unfortunately petrol in the UK is rising in price
The price you said is more or less accurate, but I'd say that would be if you were in the South of England, where petrol is more expensive. I'm not sure what petrol costs in Scotland at the moment, but where I am in the South of England it's about 98p per litre, which (once all conversions are done) comes out at about $7.20 or so.
As far as I'm aware, prices in Scotland are a few pence cheaper, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure someone from Scotland will be along to correct me shortly!

In Leicestershire prices are gonna rise to £1 a gallon in some places! Thats why I don't drive, well one of the reasons.

Yeah petrol prices are around 98p a litre at the mo, and if your buying from remote stations then the price can easily rise to over £1, which is about $1.8 us
